Beni Madan is a high-quality winter citrus fruit that originated in Ehime Prefecture. It is by far the most popular citrus fruit these days.
After the new year, Dekopon and other varieties of citrus fruits will appear, and there will be an abundance of other citrus fruits besides mandarins, but the main mid-late citrus fruit in December is the Beni Madan. It is a citrus fruit that Ehime Prefecture is proud of, and is often used as a gift.

The reason for its popularity is its jelly-like flesh, which is packed with juice. The pericarp (the thin skin that encases the flesh) is very thin, and the soft, jiggly flesh overflows with juice when you take a bite.
In addition to reaching their peak season in December, the high quality of these fruits, which are checked at the production site using optical sensors and carefully boxed one by one, makes them one of our most popular citrus fruits to give as gifts during the year-end gift-giving season.
